IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Facilities temporarily unavailable for hire.
Turramurra Uniting Church has made decision to suspend all “in-person” gatherings at the church centre in response to the Uniting Church in Australia's recommendation to all of its churches. As the COVID-19 pandemic takes hold, we need to take acton to protect health by increasing physical social distance. To assist the community efforts to slow the spread of this virus, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily close the church centre. That includes gathering for Sunday Worship as well as all activities that involve the hire of the centre’s facilities, including the hall and meeting rooms. We recognise that this is an extremely fluid situation that is constantly evolving and at this early stage we do not know how long the worship centre will be closed. We will endeavour to keep you advised as circumstances change and will reopen the centre as soon as safely possible.
If you have any questions or concerns, please use the email request section below.
We wish you and your families all the best in the coming weeks and hope to see you back in the church centre soon.
The church is designed to seat 400, with two operable walls able to be opened to provide 700 seats in all. We currently have 109 comfortable four-seat pews. As well as regular services, weddings, funerals and other special services, the church is regularly used for secular events and has proved particularly suitable for classical concerts.
The Chapel is the original Turramurra Methodist Church and is the oldest church building still used for worship in Turramurra. It is used for regular communion services, prayer meetings and meetings. It is also in demand for weddings owing to its intimate and traditional atmosphere. It contains fourteen 6-seat pews and has room for additional seating.
The Foyer has a vaulted ceiling and is the main entrance to the church. It can be used as a breakout area for concerts or a gallery area for exhibitions and displays.
The Colonnade and Courtyard
The Colonnade and Courtyard provide an open air fellowship space, particularly popular after weddings. The colonnade provides a sheltered route to the church, appreciated by brides in wet weather.
