Preacher: Liesl Homes Bible Reading: Acts 10:1-17, 34-48
We are called to share the gospel with all people. This week in our 9am worship our new student minister Liesl will be sharing with us how the early church, Peter included, started out with a narrow definition of what it meant to be a follower of Jesus, and a very limited understanding of who COULD be a follower of Jesus. It was an exclusive club with very demanding membership criteria. But God expanded that to show that Jesus’ message is truly for all people, even those we think should not belong, or write off. We, too, often struggle with who is included in God’s message of forgiveness and grace. But we are also called to share God’s love with all people. So what is the good news for us today, and with whom and how can we share it? And how can we make sure we ARE being inclusive, and not setting up barriers for people without realising it?
