Easter 2020 Information

Easter 2020 Information

We have a number of ways in which you can connect with us online to remember and celebrate the Good News of Easter:

Maundy Thursday Livestream. 7:30pm 9th April

A simple service where we will gather around an empty “virtual” table and share together in an “Empty Hands Communion”. The main part of the service will be the Tenebrae – the service of the candles. We ask you to consider preparing seven candles of your own in your home so that you can participate in the blowing out of the candles after each reading. It is meaningful service that we would love you to be a part of.

Good Friday. 10am Livestream. 10th April

• Finding Hope in Jesus and the grace that comes through the cross. This will be a more solemn service where we will focus on the things that matter most as well how do we work through a sense of grief and loss. A powerful, relevant service as we move through this time of uncertainty.  BYO Hot Cross Buns for the online morning tea afterwards

Easter Saturday/The Great Vigil (Prerecorded) 11th April

This year we are adding a new service which we believe will be a helpful addition. The Great Vigil is a old tradition of the church were on Easter Saturday people would gather to hear large chunks of scripture read, reminding them of the great story of God’s love and salvation. We are not doing the long version but hope it will still be a meaningful experience. This service will be pre-recorded and available on our YouTube channel and can be watched anytime on Easter Saturday

Easter Sunday Worship. 21st April.

Easter Sunday is the most joyous day of the year where we will celebrate the Life that comes in Jesus’ resurrection. The worship team have loads of ideas of how to make sure we still capture the life and energy of our usual Easter Sunday.

We have three opportunities for you to connect and celebrate Easter Sunday with us – our main ONLINE Livestream at 9am, our pre-recorded traditional worship at 10:45am and our more conversational Night Church service at 6:30pm.

9am Easter Celebration

The 9am Easter Morning Worship will be LIVESTREAM with lively singing, kids talk and teaching. We are still working out how to have an online Easter Egg Hunt … but we are pretty sure it will be BYO Easter Eggs!

10:45am Traditional Easter Worship

This short 45 minute worship service will include all the great old Easter Hymns in a pre-recorded format.
(Recording will be available on our website on the Wednesday before Easter)

6:30pm Night Church

Night Church Easter Evening Worship will be LIVESTREAMed with singing and sharing together, with a more ‘conversational’ approach.
