Christmas Worship at TUC2

Christmas Worship at TUC2

Christmas at Turramurra Uniting is a joyous celebration of Jesus’ birth which we hope will enrich our hearts and the world around us.  Due to COVID 19 restrictions we have had to be creative about how we celebrate this year, but we are committed to celebrating Christmas this year with all the Christmas spirit!  It will be Christmas, just different.  There are a number of different worship services and opportunities for you to experience the hope, peace, joy and love that comes from God at Christmas.  We would love for you to connect with us at any of the following worship opportunities:

COVID restrictions means that we have had to adapt our huge Christmas Eve service, but we have been creative so that it will still be full of the Christmas Spirit.  The Christmas Eve service will be both in-person and shown live on our Facebook page.  The main part of our service will be a humorous play called "Christmas; just different" preformed by many of our young people and young adults.  The play tells the story of a director trying to retell the Christmas story using different movie genres with hillarous results - and finally discovering what the spirit of Christmas is always the same, no matter how much things change.  We will also have some musical items, our minister Phil has a great short talk about the "recipe for a perfect Christmas" and we will be finishing our time with a special rendition of "Silent Night".  Yes, it will be different ... but full of the Christmas spirit and a wonderful way to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

Covid restrictions means we can only have 150 people attend the Christmas Eve service ... but we don't want anyone to miss out, so we are running the same service twice ... once at 5pm and again at 7pm and Livestreaming on our Facebook page.  If you wish to attending in person, you will need to book and the link for booking in will be available here from the 1st December.

Our two Christmas Day worship services will be short family-friendly services that you can either attend in person or watch live on our Facebook page.  .  Both services will include Christmas music, "show and tell" (a chance for people to show off their Christmas presents), a creative talk for the kids, our minister Phil will be speaking about the Joy that Jesus can bring us at Christmas and some special Christmas prayers.

Our 7:30am Christmas worship will be 40 minutes long and will feature traditional musical items with our church organ.

Our 9am Christmas service will be 60 minutes long and will feature contemporary musical items with our Church band.

Due to COVID restrictions, we can only have a maximum of 150 people at each service, so you will need to book in or you can watch it live on our Facebook page.  If you wish to attend the service in person. the link for booking will be available here from the 1st December.

5 Christmas Experiences (+Kindifarm). 9am - 10.30am.

We have done some adapting to make our kids focused Christmas Service COVID friendly. We will break into 5 smaller groups and rotate around five Christmas experiences focusing on music (please bring a recycled plastic drink bottle to use), the Christmas story, helping others, craft, and meeting & patting the Kindifarm animals (supervised by the Kindifarm staff). Afterwards there will a chance to grab a Christmas Sausage Sandwich and drink.
